Kaitlyn Day is a proud native of Queens, NY (before you ask, Alfie's is the best NYC pizza hands down) She is currently awaiting this pandemic to end so she can resume working as the wardrobe supervisor for the Eliza company of Hamilton, in Los Angeles. She held the same position for the final 8 months of the Chicago run.
She has previously worked as the wardrobe supervisor for the School of Rock First National Tour, where she realized how magical it is working with passionate, driven, and hilarious children. Her love of touring the country with musicals began when she worked on An American in Paris tech in Schenectady, NY as an over-hire stitcher leading her to accept the position of interim assistant wardrobe supervisor on Big League's production of 42nd Street, where she learned that if she could go through tech of 42nd street short several dressers over a holiday season she could do anything.
She has been the Costume Designer's Assistant on Broadway's The Glass Menagerie, School of Rock the Musical (designed by Anna Louizos), and An American in Paris (Deigned by Bob Crowley), as well as the First National Tour of those productions. Past Designs include The Door Was Open, Gemini Collisionwork’s Enterprise, CANT and, The Golfer, for which she won the NYIT award for Outstanding Costume Design. She has a Masters Degree in Costume Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
